About

Originally from Johnson City, New York, I began my training at the Danek School of Performing Arts before continuing at the Amber Perkins School of the Arts in Norwich, New York. After graduating from Johnson City High School, I moved to New York City to attend the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program. During the summers of 2007 and 2008, I trained on scholarship at Earl Mosley's Institute of the Arts, and in 2007 I had the privilege of assisting Fredrick Earl Mosley in creating Saddle Up! for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

While still in the BFA Program, the late Denise Jefferson requested my attendance at the audition for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Judith Jamison invited me to join the company that June 2009. I continued my studies while rehearsing, performing and touring with AAADT, graduating magna cum laude with departmental honors in May 2010.

Over my decade with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (2009–2019), I performed in more than 65 ballets across 15 countries and 4 continents, with works by Kyle Abraham, Alvin Ailey, Aszure Barton, Robert Battle, Talley Beatty, Maurice Béjart, Mauro Bigonzetti, Ronald K. Brown, Hope Boykin, Donald Byrd, Ulysses Dove, Garth Fagan, George Faison, Rennie Harris, Geoffrey Holder, Christopher Huggins, Johan Inger, Judith Jamison, Bill T. Jones, Jiří Kylián, Jessica Lang, Lar Lubovitch, Hans van Manen, Wayne McGregor, Robert Moses, Ohad Naharin, Jamar Roberts, David Parsons, Redha, Matthew Rushing, Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, Hofesh Shechter, Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp, and Billy Wilson. Some principal roles that hold special weight were in David Parson’s Caught, Bill T. Jones’ D-Man in the Waters, and Johan Inger’s Walking Mad.

In January 2012, I performed and taught as a guest artist with the JUNTOS Collective during a two-week residency in Guatemala. In 2017, Samuel Lee Roberts and I performed Robert Battle's Strange Humors for the Dancers Responding to AIDS Hudson Valley Dance Festival — an experience that led to a new commission, Birth of the Blues, choreographed by James Kinney for DRA's 2018 Fire Island Dance Festival.

In 2019, after a decade with Ailey, I took a leap of faith and set my sights on the Broadway stage. Those plans were put on hold by the COVID-19 pandemic, but I continued to create work during that uncertain period, joining the ensembles of John Caird's Estella Scrooge: A Christmas Carol with a Twist and Burning Man the Musical, featured on Amazon Prime.

In 2021, I expanded into opera, performing in Santa Fe Opera's A Midsummer Night's Dream and beginning an ongoing relationship with Chicago Lyric Opera in Florencia en el Amazonas. That year I also collaborated for the first time with Dance Lab NY - choreographer Gabrielle Lamb.

2022 brought my introduction to musical theater, as an Angel in Bucks County Playhouse's Kinky Boots and in Chicago Lyric Opera's Fiddler on the Roof. I traveled to Oregon to perform in Carmen with Portland Opera, and closed out the year playing Baby John in Francesca Zambello's production of West Side Story at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari in Sardinia. This year I also started working as a guest teacher and adjudacator for Jump, the largest dance convention in the world, operated through DanceOne.

In 2023, I began the year choreographing for Troy University and serving as interim Rehearsal Director for Ailey II for the first leg of their domestic tour. I returned to Dance Lab NY working this time with Josh Prince and performed as Gee-Tar in Chicago Lyric Opera's West Side Story. That summer my husband Samuel Lee Roberts and I choreographed and performed alongside Alan Cumming for the Fire Island Dance Festival, I performed as Mr. Z in The Cape Playhouse's An American in Paris, and we wrapped up at performing Robert Battle’s Strange Humors at the Asbury Park Dance Festival. That fall, I traveled to Austria to perform in the Linzer Klangwolke and on to Australia to cast Opera Australia's upcoming production of West Side Story on Sydney Harbour. Back in New York, I taught at Steps on Broadway for the first time and closed the year as a guest artist with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater during its annual New York City Center season.

In 2024, I performed at the Met Gala alongside Ariana Grande, choreographed by Lauren and Christopher Grant and directed by Michael Arden. I also performed for Earl Mosley at the Dancers Against Cancer Annual City Center Fundraiser and joined the Metropolitan Opera Ballet appearing in Les Contes d'Hoffmann at the Metropolitan Opera.

In 2025, I worked with ACT of Connecticut on Few Words, choreographed by Ellenore Scott and Maleek Washington. I choreographed for Frank Sinatra School of the Arts and took part in The Hermes Mystery at the Grooms, a highly immersive, interactive scavenger hunt.

That fall, I joined Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts as a Professor of Practice for the 2025–2026 academic year, teaching Jazz, Ballet, Modern, and Theater Repertory.

As an experienced teacher, I have taught company class for Alvin Ailey and led outreach masterclasses and lecture demonstrations around the world including The Kennedy Center Summer Intensive. I take pride in my versatility, equally at home teaching Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theater, Partnering and Contemporary styles.

I welcome inquiries about collaborations and would love to share more about what's next.
